Downham's 3Cs
At Downham we passionately believe in working towards helping every child realise their full potential. We also believe that education is a shared responsibility between home and school. As such, we endeavour to ensure that parents are kept fully informed about school life and their child’s learning. We encourage the involvement of our parents throughout their time at school. Our school staff, governors, parents and pupils work together to create an ethos in which each person feels valued and respected as a member of our school and wider community.
At Downham, we are proud to have a strong and dedicated teaching staff that bring a vast amount of knowledge, experience and expertise to the school. We pride ourselves on our relationships with children, parents, staff and the wider community.

We believe that education should be about the ‘whole life’ and should be rich in experiences and personal development. Life is a gift and we do our best to give our pupils experiences that will nurture their development academically, socially and spiritually.

- We CARE about each other as members of our school community and the world around us. We want to show God’s love to everyone.
- We CONSIDER our future and prepare for it today. We do our best. When we make mistakes, we take responsibility and try again. We know that God has good plans for us.
- We show COURTESY to everyone. We are all made in God’s image, unique but equal. We treat each other with respect.
Children are taught about the 24 different character strengths that make up their personality. They understand that we all possess these strengths, but in different degrees, resulting in a truly unique character strength profile.
These character strengths have been carefully aligned with our school values “care, consideration and courtesy” and are recognised as part of our weekly celebration assembly
