School Uniform

We ask that you support us in encouraging your child to wear our school uniform. It is expected that children will be suitably dressed for Physical Education.

At Downham C of E Primary School our children are proud to be members of our school and wear our uniform.  The uniform has been designed to be practical for a primary school while reflecting the high standards expected at school – it is to be worn with pride at all times. 

We feel that it is important that children learn to dress smartly and appropriately.  They grow up at Downham C of E Primary School understanding that most secondary schools and later in life, businesses, require smart, professional dress.  We look to parents to work with the school to ensure that children come to school always maintaining a high standard of dress.

WINTER UNIFORM 

Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 

Boys 

  • White polo shirt. 
  • Light grey jumpers with yellow trim. 
  • Grey trousers.  
  • Black shoes or plain black trainers (not boots)
  • Black, grey or white socks. 

Girls 

  • White polo shirt 
  • Light grey jumper or cardigan with yellow trim. 
  • Grey pinafore dress or grey trousers. 
  • Black shoes or plain black trainers (not boots)
  • Black or grey tights, or black, grey or white socks. 

WINTER UNIFORM 

Key Stage 2 NB. Year 6 will be given a Downham gold tie

Boys  

  • White shirt with yellow and black striped tie.  
  • Light grey jumper with yellow trim. 
  • Grey trousers. 
  • Black shoes or plain black trainers (not boots)
  • Black, grey or white socks. 

Girls 

  • White shirt with yellow and black striped tie. 
  • Light grey jumper or cardigan with yellow trim. 
  • Grey tailored skirt or trousers. 
  • Black shoes or plain black trainers (not boots)
  • Black or grey tights, or black, grey, or white socks. 

SUMMER UNIFORM 

Boys 

  • As above with either grey trousers or shorts.   

Girls  

Yellow and white summer school dresses with school jumper/cardigan. 

PE UNIFORM 

Boys and Girls 

  • Coloured house logoed t-shirt. 
  • Black shorts. 
  • Black slip-on plimsolls with white socks. (EYFS and KS1)
  • Black or white trainers 
  • Sports bag (logoed available) 
  • Black tracksuit. 

OTHER UNIFORM 

Boys and Girls 

  • Children require an old shirt or apron for messy activities. 
  • All children are required to bring in a labelled water bottle. 
  • Infant-sized book bag for EYFS and KS1 with school logo
  • Small rucksack/drawstring bag for KS2 to go on their peg – not ‘handbag’ style 
  • Small hair accessories may be worn in black, white, yellow or grey only.
