PTA

Downham C of E Primary School PTA is committed to raising funds and building a strong sense of community within our school. Our children are only at Downham for a short time, and the PTA works to create a wide range of opportunities that enrich their education, support their wellbeing, and help them make happy, lasting memories.

Meet the Committee

· Danielle Cawte – Chair

· Natalie Thomas – Vice-Chair

· Anna Conquest – Treasurer

· Nicola Jones– Secretary

Events Organised by the PTA

The PTA leads a variety of fun and engaging events throughout the year, including:

· Scarecrow Trail

· Meet the Easter Bunny & Easter Egg Hunt

· Christmas Bazaar

· Mother’s Day & Father’s Day Craft Days

· School Discos

· Downham’s Got Talent …and many more.

How the Money Is Used

All funds raised go directly back into the school and towards enhancing our children’s experiences. We work closely with staff to identify where support is most needed—whether that’s educational resources, equipment, or memorable activities.

Recent examples include:

· A new TV and stand for hall presentations and assemblies

· Playground upgrades and new sports equipment

· Soft furnishings for Early Years classrooms

· Annual pantomime trips

· Live chicks for Easter

· Samba music workshops

How You Can Help

Our events simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of parents and carers. We understand that everyone’s time is limited, so we offer many ways to get involved—big or small.

You can help by:

· Attending events and encouraging your child to join in

· Supporting the PTA with planning or helping at events—this could be anything from wrapping gifts to running an activity

· Joining our PTA WhatsApp group to hear about small, one-off opportunities to help (even an hour a year makes a difference!)

All volunteers must have a valid DBS certificate, in line with the school’s safeguarding commitment—but don’t worry, we can guide you through the process. For more information, please email downhamschoolpta@gmail.com.
