Online Safety
Staying safe online is just as important as staying safe in the real world.
At Downham C of E Primary School, we teach our pupils how to use the internet in a positive, responsible, and safe way.
For Parents & Carers
-
Talk regularly with your child about what they do online.
-
Set clear rules about screen time and what sites or apps they can use.
-
Use parental controls to help protect your child from harmful content.
-
Encourage openness. Let your child know they can come to you if something doesn’t feel right.
For Pupils
-
Keep your personal information private. Never share your full name, address, phone number, or school online.
-
Think before you click. If something looks strange, don’t open it.
-
Be kind online. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
-
Tell an adult you trust. If something upsets or worries you online, always speak to a parent, carer, or teacher.
Our Commitment
We include online safety in our lessons throughout the year and celebrate Safer Internet Day to help children build good digital habits.
